One Direction create group chat and commented on reunion hopes

Members of One Direction have fueled rumors that the group will reunite to perform as a five-piece band in the near future.

In 2010, Simon Cowell formed the chart-topping pop band One Direction from solo performers Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson through The X Factor.

They went on to release five albums in as many years before going ‘on hiatus’ in 2016 to focus on solo projects, with no indication of how long the hiatus would last.

Fans now have evidence that the guys may be planning to reunite the band, as they have created a group chat between themselves.

The Sun on Sunday reports that Liam, age 29, was questioned about the band’s possible reunion while attending a sporting event in London.

“I don’t know, but we just started a new group chat, so that’s something,” he responded.
When asked if this indicated that “1D will be back soon,” Liam reportedly shrugged and declined to elaborate on a possible return.

Liam has enlisted the help of Niall, 29, and Louis, 31, to work on his upcoming second solo album in a Los Angeles recording facility, according to a music source.

“Liam is great friends with Niall and Louis, so he enjoyed catching up with them while they were all in Los Angeles,” said a source.

“Being in the studio together felt natural, so they immediately recorded a song. Singing together was second nature to them, and it felt like old times. They erupted in laughter. Producers are hopeful that Liam will include this track on his final album; fans will adore it.”

Since leaving the group, each member of One Direction has released solo music, with Zayn, 30, being the first to do so in 2015, releasing three albums, the first of which topped the rankings in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Niall has published two albums, and a third will be released in June of this year. Louis has also released two albums, with both of their second albums reaching number one in the UK.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Harry has released three albums, of which two have made number one and the third has reached number two. Harry hinted at the prospect of a One Direction reunion while appearing on The Late Show with James Corden in Los Angeles last month.

James demanded categorically, “Yes or no, will there be a One Direction reunion?”
And sending admirers into a frenzy, Harry responded, “I would never say never to that. If there was ever a time when we desired to do it, I see no reason why we would not.”

While a source previously told OK! Magazine, “Liam is desperate to get back on the road with the boys,” his solo career hasn’t been as successful as he had hoped, and he’s reached a point of professional stagnation.

He is aware that he has fallen out of favor with the public and believes that the only way to gain them back is with a One Direction reunion.”
