Shakira and Lewis Hamilton are getting closer.
Following several public appearances, a source tells PEOPLE that the singer and Formula One driver are keeping things “fun and flirty.”
A source who knows them both claims that “they’re spending time together and in the “getting to know you” stage. It’s flirtatious and fun.”
The news was released after Shakira watched the F1 Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, Spain, where Hamilton competed for Mercedes and finished in second place. Following the race, the two spent time together.
Following the event, the two went out for dinner and drinks with a group of friends that included Daniel Caesar, Fai Khadra, and Mustafa who posted a picture from the outing to his Instagram Story.
In the picture, Hamilton was sitting next to Shakira with his arm around her waist. Everyone in the picture was smiling as they sipped cocktails.
After attending the 2023 Grand Prix, she was seen hanging out with Hamilton and friends for a boat trip in Miami last month.
Her attendance at the Miami Grand Prix came only one day after she was named Billboard’s first Woman of the Year at the inaugural Latin Women in Music gala. She appeared to discuss her news-making breakup with her ex, Gerard Piqué, during her award speech.
She addressed the audience as she accepted her award, “This has been a year of seismic change in my life where I’ve felt more than ever — and very personally — what it is to be a woman.”
“It’s been a year where I’ve realized we women are stronger than we think, braver than we believed, more independent than we were taught to be,” Shakira continued.
“Because what woman hasn’t at some time in her life forgotten herself because she’s seeking the attention and love of someone else? It happened to me, more than once,” she added.
Shakira confirmed her divorce from the soccer star in June 2022, after first revealing their relationship in March 2011. Hamilton has been linked to a number of high-profile ladies, including Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj, after his 2015 split from longtime girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
Earlier this week, Shakira appeared in good spirits as she watched Lewis Hamilton compete at the F1 Grand Prix of Spain at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, amidst rumors of a romance between the two.
While seated in the audience, the Columbian singer could be seen grinning while donning a multicolored shirt with a paisley pattern.
She wore a silk shirt with a gold pattern and hues of blue, pink, and white.
She wore lashings of makeup, including a pink lip, to accentuate her attractive features.
Along with her friends, the pop sensation appeared absorbed in the race as they watched it go by.
Shakira watched as Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished second and third behind Max Verstappen, who won handily.
Before the race on Sunday, Lewis displayed his sharp sense of fashion by donning a red shirt underneath a black jacket and matching pants.
He had a set of dark shades covering his eyes, and he had several earring-matching gold grills on his teeth.
