Jennifer Aniston has just taken a bold stance against J.D. Vance’s controversial comments. ‘The Morning Show’ actress took to Instagram Stories to voice her disapproval of Ohio Senator J.D. Vance’s remarks. Vance, who’s currently running as Donald Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, made waves with his comments about “childless cat ladies.” Jennifer didn’t hold back, calling out Vance in a post that quickly went viral.
“I truly can’t believe that this is coming from a potential VP of the United States,” Aniston posted alongside a clip of Vance speaking to conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. “All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
The comments in question? During his 2021 Senate bid, Vance criticized several high-profile Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He described them as “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
Vance, speaking with Carlson, argued that the future of the Democratic Party is controlled by people without children. “It’s just a basic fact – you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC – the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”
Aniston’s sharp rebuttal isn’t just political – it’s personal. The actress has been open about her struggles with fertility, making Vance’s comments hit close to home. In a candid interview with Allure in December 2022, Aniston revealed her challenges with trying to have children.
“I would say my late 30s, 40s, I’d gone through really hard s***, and if it wasn’t for going through that, I would’ve never become who I was meant to be,” Aniston shared. “That’s why I have such gratitude for all those sy things. Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were. And now, I don’t f***ing care.”
The Friends actress also disclosed her efforts to become pregnant, which included exploring multiple methods. “I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it,” she said. “I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
The constant rumors and speculation about her possible pregnancies were emotionally taxing. “It was really hard,” she said. The insinuations that she chose her career over having children were particularly hurtful. “Absolute lies,” she stated.
