Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 43, has given a revealing interview about her life post-divorce from football star Tom Brady, 45. The couple, who were together for over a decade, announced their divorce in October 2022. In an upcoming interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Gisele discussed how she’s moved into a new phase of her life and reflected on their separation, saying, “I think before I was more surviving, and now I’m living, which is different.”
Tom and Gisele share two children, Vivian, 10, and Benjamin, 13, and Tom has an older son, Jack, 15, from a previous relationship. Gisele temporarily stepped back from her modeling career to focus on raising their children but has recently returned to the world of high fashion.
Tom Brady initially announced his retirement in 2022, a decision he later reversed. This reportedly caused tension in their relationship, with rumors suggesting Gisele was concerned about the impact of the sport on Brady’s health and gave him an ultimatum to retire or face divorce. He ultimately retired for the final time in February 2023.
Reflecting on their divorce, Gisele said, “I think it’s not what I dreamed of and what I hoped for. My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen… But I think you have to accept, you know sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, it’s sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart. I mean, he’s the father of my kids, so I always wish him the best, and I’m so grateful that he gave me wonderful children.”
During the interview, Gisele also revealed that the intense stress of her modeling career once led her to fantasize about “jumping out of the window” due to the overwhelming pressure and suffocating feelings. However, she emphasized that these thoughts were fleeting.
Gisele has been romantically linked to jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, although she dismisses rumors, saying, “I think, at this point, unfortunately, because I’m divorced, I’m sure that they’re going to try to attach me to anything.”
Tom Brady has moved on with supermodel Irina Shayk, 37, and sources indicate that their relationship is serious and that Tom is thrilled about their connection. Gisele, on the other hand, is described as “unbothered” by Tom’s new romance, as she has moved on with her life and is focused on co-parenting their children.
