A Grandfather at Parents’ Day? Michael Douglas Shares a Humorous Anecdote

In a recent candid conversation, Hollywood’s veteran actor, Michael Douglas, shared a humorous anecdote that left everyone chuckling. The incident took place during a Parents’ Day event at his children’s college, where the actor was mistaken for a grandfather!

Douglas, who is 79 years old, has two children with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Their son, Dylan, is 23 years old and their daughter, Carys, is 21. Both children attended Brown University in Rhode Island, with Dylan graduating in 2022.

The Oscar-winning actor recalled the amusing incident, stating that he was taken aback when he was told that it wasn’t Grandparents’ Day but Parents’ Day. He quickly clarified, much to the surprise of the person, that he was indeed a parent and not a grandparent!

Douglas didn’t specify which child’s Parents’ Day he was attending when the incident occurred. However, the story certainly adds a light-hearted touch to the challenges of being an older parent.

In the same interview, Douglas also shared insights into his personal life. He spoke about his 25-year-long marriage with Zeta-Jones and how becoming a parent later in life has shaped him. He confessed that earlier in his life, his career took precedence over his family. However, now he is taking a step back to enjoy more quality time with his family.

Douglas also shared that he and Zeta-Jones love to travel with their children. They recently returned from a five-week-long trip to India, which was undoubtedly an enriching experience for the entire family.

This story serves as a reminder that age is just a number, and it’s never too late to start a family. Despite the occasional mix-ups and humorous incidents, Douglas seems to be thoroughly enjoying his role as a father. His story is an inspiration to many and a testament to the joys of parenthood, regardless of one’s age.
