The drama is not over for the cast of Selling Sunset, the hit Netflix reality show that follows the lives of the glamorous real estate agents of the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. In the reunion special that aired on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, fans were shocked to hear that Jason Oppenheim, the president and founder of the brokerage, is still in love with his ex-girlfriend and co-star Chrishell Stause, despite their breakup in December 2021.
The former couple, who dated for five months after confirming their romance in July 2021, had a tearful conversation on the couch, where they opened up about the reasons behind their split and their current feelings for each other. Jason, 44, admitted that he still has strong feelings for Chrishell, 40, and that he regrets letting her go.
“I’m still in love with you, and I don’t know if I’ll ever stop,” Jason said, looking into Chrishell’s eyes. “You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever met, and I’m sorry that I wasn’t ready to give you what you wanted and deserved.”
Chrishell, who was visibly emotional, thanked Jason for his honesty and said that she still cares for him as well. However, she also revealed that they had different views on starting a family, which was a deal-breaker for her.
“I love you too, Jason, and you know that. But I want to have kids someday, and you don’t. And that’s something that I can’t compromise on,” Chrishell said, wiping away her tears. “I respect your decision, but I have to think about my future too.”
Jason, who has previously stated that he does not want to have children, said that he understands Chrishell’s point of view, but he also hoped that they could find a way to work things out.
“I get it, Chrishell. I do. And I’m not asking you to change your mind. But I’m also not ready to give up on us. I think we have something special, and I don’t want to lose you,” Jason said, holding Chrishell’s hand. “Maybe we can take some time apart, and see how we feel. Maybe we can find a solution that works for both of us.”
Chrishell, who has been married twice before, said that she appreciates Jason’s gesture, but she also does not want to waste any more time on a relationship that has no future.
“Jason, you’re a wonderful man, and I’m grateful for the time we spent together. But I don’t think taking a break is the answer. I think we need to move on, and find someone who shares our goals and values,” Chrishell said, letting go of Jason’s hand. “I don’t want to hurt you, but I also don’t want to hurt myself. I think we should end things here, and try to be friends.”
The reunion host, Andy Cohen, who was watching the exchange from a distance, intervened and asked the former couple if they had any final words for each other. Jason and Chrishell hugged and wished each other happiness, before saying goodbye.
The reunion special also featured other juicy moments, such as the heated argument between Christine Quinn and Mary Fitzgerald, the surprise appearance of Heather Rae Young’s fiancé Tarek El Moussa, and the update on Amanza Smith’s missing ex-husband. Fans can watch the full episode on Netflix.
