Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have reportedly called it quits on their freshly revived romance.
According to The Sun, the Canadian singer and the Havana hitmaker had only recently gotten back together. However, they have already broken up and this time it’s for good.
Shawn and Camila, who were last spotted making out at a Taylor Swift concert on May 26, “have a lot of history” and “tested the waters again after coming back into each other’s lives,” a source told the outlet.
The insider continued, “But it was just a fling, and they’ve ended it now. They realized that trying again was definitely a bad idea. There was a reason why things ended between them the first time, after all.”
‘In actuality, both of them know they aren’t the right fit romantically,’ the source said, ‘and now they just want to move on.’
The on-again couple first made their relationship public in the summer of 2019 and maintained their relationship throughout the COVID-19 lockdowns before splitting at the end of 2021, two years after they started dating.
By the middle of April, though, there were rumors that they were reconciling, and it was confirmed when they were seen kissing at Coachella.
Shawn and Camila have not yet publicly addressed the rumored breakup.
The couple issued a joint statement to confirm their breakup when their relationship came to an end in 2021.
The source informed the publication that they hoped to go on without acknowledging the revived romance because it was so brief.
Just under two weeks ago, the couple appeared to be in good spirits when they attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at New Jersey’s massive MetLife Stadium.
The two couldn’t keep their hands off of each other and were seen in the VIP area enjoying the concert with their arms around one another, looking very much like a loved-up couple.
They have been spotted romancing each other again several times since their first reunion, including a stroll in New York City just over two weeks ago while holding hands, and another stroll on May 25 while both wearing all-black sporting clothes.
They also had a special dinner date in New York during the same month.
A source exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com in late April that Shawn and Camila had been seeing each other for weeks in secret and were “seeing where things go.”
The insider added: ‘Having played the field for two years now, they both know now how special what they had was. Not to mention that their sexual chemistry is off the hook. Camila turns Shawn on like no other woman. She always has.’
When Camila and Shawn first announced their breakup in November 2021, they reassured their followers on Instagram that they remained “best friends.”
At the time, Shawn shared the breakup news on his Instagram, writing, ‘Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.’
‘We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.’
Camila and Shawn signed the message. Cabello also shared the statement on her Instagram account.
