In a recent interview, Miley Cyrus discussed whether or not her breakup with Liam Hemsworth served as an inspiration for her smash hit “Flowers.”
The rumors that Miley Cyrus’ song “Flowers” is about her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth received an expert answer from the singer. In an interview for the June cover of British Vogue, the 30-year-old singer was asked if her smash song from her album Endless Summer Vacation was inspired by her breakup with 33-year-old Liam in 2019. Miley said, “I never need to be a master in the craft of tricking an audience”. “It will set itself on fire on its own.”
Many tracks off Miley’s upcoming album, including “Flowers” and “Jaded,” are rumored to be about her ex. Miley never confirmed or denied that the songs on the album were influenced by her ex. However, Miley refuted claims that any of her most recent songs are about her romance with Liam in this brand-new interview. “I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased,” she said. “Interesting stories come from interesting lives.”
When it comes to “Flowers,” Miley explained that she originally created the song “in a really different way.” “The chorus was original: ‘I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I can’t love me better than you can,'” she said. It used to be more like the 1950s. The saddest song.
“Sure. I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better”, kind of like that”. “The song is a little fake it until you make it,” Miley continued. “Something I greatly admire”.
Miley and her ex-husband met as teenagers but married discreetly in 2018. Within a year, they decided to end their ten-year relationship permanently. Miley acknowledged on the Call Her Daddy podcast a year after the split that her and Liam’s divorce had been “traumatizing” for her.
However, Miley clarified that as more time passed, her viewpoint on the separation evolved. In the interview with Miley in August 2020, she remarked, “Now I’m in a place where I look at it and embrace it and respect it. “The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time of my life,” she continued.
Since the split, Miley has found love once more with Maxx Morando. Since 2022, they have been dating, and Miley seemed to be very content with him. Meanwhile, since the end of 2019, Liam has been dating model Gabriella Brooks.
